A journey of transformation driven by fire, wood and time.
An exercise in art direction and visual storytelling about the journey of whisky. This is the project where 3D and AI split the work most explicitly: 3D guarantees what has to repeat, AI delivers what has to impress.
3D is the control. AI is the finish.
Personal project, with no commercial affiliation or brand approval. Created as an art direction exercise.
It isn't a script invented on top of the product: it's the product telling you how it's made. Grain, fire, time. Three states of matter that are already three acts, giving the film a structure before any image exists.
Among the first frames built, one imposed itself: the image that stayed in your memory. From the moment it appeared, it became the standard of light, texture and scale that every other shot had to answer to.
The bottle comes in as a ready-made asset. The table and the barrels are generated with dedicated 3D-asset AI. The scene is composed and animated in 3D — and that's what lets you see the same barrel, the same bottle and the same table across different shots without anything drifting from one cut to the next. Consistency isn't something you ask for in a prompt: you model it.
Everything that appears only once — the atmosphere of the distillery, the matter, the fire, the wood — is generated as an AI plate and animated with AI. It doesn't need consistency across shots, it needs impact. That's where the generative pipeline is unbeatable.
The 3D scenes are animated with a controlled camera; the AI plates get their movement from AI. The edit stitches the two together so that the origin of each shot disappears — which is exactly the point.
The build and the final result of each moment, side by side.
